Rural and provincial Churches in New Zealand are responding to the contemporary context, with fewer active church congregations in rural communities and as much, if not more, need among people on the land for connection and support, be it practical or pastoral.
A good example of such a response in a crisis situation is the experience of Cyclone Gabriel in 2023
