BED AND BREAKFAST
This is available at any stage before or after the conference. They will be provided by the Darfield Parish as a fundraiser. The cost is $100 per couple per night plus $30 for an evening meal. MARAE EXPERIENCE NOW FULL
This rich and colourful 24 hour introduction to New Zealand will be a delight and far better than available to tourists, as well as a chance to get to know other conference delegates. It will include a Maori cultural experience, visits to farms and places of interest, homestay accommodation with church folk, and a meal and worship with migrant Filipino workers and their families on Saturday evening followed by worship in one of the Leeston churches on Sunday morning. You can be sure of a full and really enjoyable weekend before being taken to the conference venue on 15th. Before conference
Bus or Train to the West Coast, 11th to 13th April 2018
Day 1: Christchurch – Hokitika Wednesday 11th April:
Today we travel west across the Canterbury Plains to Arthurs Pass crossing the Southern Alps. You have the option of travel on the coach or the world famous Tranz Alpine Train to Arthurs’ Pass. We will visit the beautiful Hokitika Gorge and explore the historical gold town of Hokitika. Our overnight accommodation looks out over the Tasman Sea. This evening you are free to dine at one of the many cafés and restaurants.

Day 2: Hokitika, Punakaiki Buller Gorge Lewis Pass (B) (D) Thursday 12th April:
Today we travel north along one of New Zealands great Coastal Highways to Punakaiki. Plenty of time to explore the Pancake Rocks. We continue north to the historic coal mining town of Westport. We travel up the Buller River Gorge to Maruia where the local community are providing you with an evening meal. We then continue onto our overnight stop at the Maruia Springs Hotel in the Lewis Pass. The hotel has thermal hot pools that are free to use. Enjoy sitting in a hot pool under the stars.

Day 3: Lewis Pass to Christchurch (B) Friday 13th April:
After a great breakfast we travel over the Lewis Pass to Christchurch stopping at many interesting places along the way.

After conference
Bus Trip to Mt Cook and McKenzie Country
21st April to 23rd April 2018
Day 1: Christchurch – Twizel Saturday 21st April: (D)
Today we travel west via the Rakaia Gorge visiting many interesting places along the way. Plenty of time to enjoy the town of Geraldine before we travel past Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki onto our overnight stop in Twizel. Dinner will be at the Mackenzie Country Inn.

Day 2: Aoraki Mount Cook (B) (D) Sunday 22nd April:
This morning we travel to the Mount Cook National Park at the headwaters of Lake Pukaki. Mt Cook is New Zealand’s highest mountain surrounded by numerous peaks over 8000 feet high. Enjoy the wonderful visitors’ centre and enjoy one of the short walks. Breakfast and Dinner will be at the McKenzie Country Inn.

Day 3: Waitaki Valley (B) Monday 23rd April:
We continue our journey home via the Waitaki Valley stopping at Waimate. We will make a short stop at the Gardens to view the Wallabies. We will visit the historic Burnett family church at Cave before returning to Christchurch.
